Albany Fall Forecast: Will It Be Cool or Warm?
After a warmer than average summer, what can we expect for temperatures this fall?
It is one of the best times of the year: fall in Upstate New York. The weather gets a bit cooler, and becomes pretty much perfectly comfortable for any outdoor activity. But after a warmer than normal summer, what will our temperatures be like in the coming months?
According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, there is a pretty good chance it will be warmer than normal. The current National Weather Service forecast model for September, October and November says we have a 40 to 50% chance of a warmer than average autumn here in the Capital Region. Now like any forecast, the opposite could happen. But, based on the warm year we have had so far, the odds are probably pretty good that trend could continue.
Regardless, we will still have plenty of cool, crisp days this fall to enjoy at the apple orchard or the pumpkin patch. And with the emphasis still on social distancing, getting outdoors to enjoy autumn in the Capital Region will be something we can all look forward to.
