It was the first time in a LONG time that a building was taken down via implosion in the Albany area - but how much did it cost the city to do so?

According to the Albany Business Review, the August 23rd implosion of the Wellington Hotel Annex cost the city of Albany $160,000 - which when you think about it, is not all that much compared to the $66.5 million dollar convention center they plan to build in its place.

Many went down to view the implosion from nearby roof tops, but this may be one of my favorite videos showing the Empire state Plaza in the background.

What do you think of the cost?
