Jared Leto to Terrorize ‘Blade Runner 2’ Cast Next
Many people were annoyed / repulsed by reports of Jared Leto’s “method acting” on the set of Suicide Squad, but it looks like Denis Villeneuve wasn’t one of them: Leto has officially joined the cast of the Sicario director’s untitled Blade Runner sequel, which should surely test the paper-thin patience of Harrison Ford. In related news, feel free to place your bets now on which of Leto’s co-stars will be charged with assault before production ends.
In a move seemingly designed to provoke the wrath of Harrison Ford, Variety reports that Leto is the latest actor to join the cast of Alcon Entertainment’s Blade Runner 2, the new sequel to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic. Despite his notorious on-set antics and his divisive performance in Suicide Squad, Leto remains a very talented actor whose ethics are questionable, at best.
It seems highly unlikely that noted curmudgeon Harrison Ford (reprising his role as Rick Deckard) will tolerate such shenanigans on his lawn — aka the set of the Blade Runner sequel. Leto’s new marks (or co-stars, whatever) also include Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Ana de Armas, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James and David Dastmalchian.
Villeneuve is directing Blade Runner 2 from a screenplay by Michael Green and original scribe Hampton Fancher. Roger Deakins, who shot Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic, will also return to serve as cinematographer on the sequel, which hits theaters on October 6, 2017.
