Why do I get the feeling that this isn't the last time we're going to see Zaila Avant-garde on ESPN?

Live from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida, in front of a studio audience and a national audience watching at home, the 14-year old Avant-garde emerged victorious from the group of 209 spellers. In its 93rd iteration of the competition, Avant-garde successfully spelled the world "murraya" to take home a cool $50,000, along with other prizes.

Also, while I would've guessed murraya was simply someone on Twitter misspelling Ms. Carey's first name, it turns out it's a real word. Who would've thought!

After the win, however, another video surfaced from the life and times of Zaila Avant-garde. While almost every viral video of someone nowadays is negative, this video was quite the opposite, and caught the attention of sports fans everywhere.

Here's the video that caught my eye:

Oh, you wanted more? Perfect, here's more:

Zaila Avant-garde can BALL, folks!

Now, here's where ESPN really missed the boat. They could've EASILY mixed in a few of the crazier names in NBA history...Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Giannis Antetokounmpo...to test Avant-garde's true penchant for basketball.

In all seriousness, we may be hearing from Zaila Avant-garde in the not-so-distant future. Right here in New York, the WNBA's Liberty are 10-9 on the season, and play their games at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. With handles like that, and the kind of intelligence that could cure cancer, any fan of the Liberty would love to have her join the team.

And now, we wait.
