Officers with the Albany Police Department report that they responded to the area of Orange Avenue. They recovered a revolver, a 12 gauge shotgun, a 45 caliber revolver, a 40 caliber handgun, a 357 magnum revolver, a 38 caliber revolver, and a 9 mm handgun.
Mr. Ojeda had pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He admitted that the baby ingested methamphetamine while he was caring for his child. Mr. Ojeda did not call for medical assistance for his child until it was too late.
Alexander Alomar was charged with second-degree Harassment; fourth-degree Criminal Mischief; fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon; and three counts of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. If Mr. Alomar is convicted of all of these charges, he could spend 23 years in prison.
