The biggest story of the year is also the most recent. This story about the Crossgates Mall brawl at a beef jerky store got coverage all over the US, and went international when it got reported by the Daily Mail.
This headline actually was a small indicator of the first big storm of the season, as parts of the Capital Region got 27 inches of snow. Snow is usually not a big story in Albany, but over 2 feet right after Thanksgiving turned into our 2nd biggest story of the year.
Cohoes native Madison Vandenburg made the Capital Region super proud by singing her way in to the top 3 of American Idol. Her audition performance took the Capital Region by storm and was our 3rd biggest story of 2019.
