This weekend the number one pizza place in the Capital Region year after year is opening for the season. By the way, Kay's Pizza is number one according to the Times Union "Best Of The Capital Region" year after year. Kay's Famous Pizza on Burden Lake opens for the season on March 28th.

If you're familiar with Kay's Pizza you know it's well worth the long lines and the long telephone wait times to get your hands on that seasonal favorite.

It has been over a year and we are still navigating through Covid restrictions! We are just about set to start Kay's...

Last year was quite a challenge for Kay's Famous Pizza with social distancing and safety guidelines making it difficult just to open up for the 2020 season. Kay's is famous for not only their pizza but also for not taking any reservations and huge crowds of people waiting in line to get in or pick-up a pie to go. That all had to change in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. They streamlined their pickup process to make it contact-free with a parking lot pick-up. They expanded their take-out business and opened the season with a limited, but still delicious menu.

My family almost always gets pizza on Friday night. It's a tradition that has been going on for a long, long time. We mentioned that to our realtor, Margret, when we moved to Averill Park and she immediately said, "You have to try Kay's Pizza, it's famous." Ever since Kay's has been in our pizza rotation as well as AJ's Pizza on RT 43, Bella Mae's...all great spots on the east side of the Hudson River for unique, and delicious pizzas.

So, get your phone fired up and get ready to spend some serious time on hold to place your order this weekend. Mmmmm I can almost taste a delicious slice already.
